SHOW STATEMENT:  

SHOW STATEMENT: This is an Opportunity for FLWAA artists to actively engage and
show their unique identity, subject matter, style and methodology. GALLERY 500
and The Daytona invite you participate in a unique 1 evening event that blends art
with the elegance of wine. A juried Art Showcase wherein you can show art
depicting your unique vision to a curated audience. Engage in opportunities to
network with artists, art enthusiasts and potential clientele in an energized
atmosphere featuring both art and wine. All artists are invited to submit 4 pieces of
their best work, and all mediums are accepted (paintings, sculptures, photography,
etc.)

IMPORTANT DATES:

Entry Deadline:  September 30, 2024

Intake:                 October 15 - 11a to 1pm at Gallery 500

Pick up:                October 18, after 7pm - Arrangements for pick up after event or from Gallery 500 will be finalized upon acceptance into the event.

Date of Event:       October 18 – 5pm to 7pm w/Wine Tasting & Light Appetizers

Acceptance Letters will be sent on or before: October 11, 2024

ENTRY FEES:  No Entry Fees for this Unique Opportunity

COMMISSION SPLIT:  60/40 of negotiated sales price

 

Location:  Blue Flame Bar, The Daytona, 1870 Victory Cir., Daytona Beach, FL

THIS IS A JURIED EVENT! ALL ART ENTERED WILL BE JURIED IN BY GALLERY 500 STAFF!  Due to the limited space allowance, only 10 artists will be selected to be showcased in this event. Selected artists must attend the event and will be expected to interact with clientele.  You should be comfortable discussing your work and process with prospective customers. If you have any questions prior to entering, please contact the Chair.

ARTWORK STANDARDS

Artists may submit only original work made within the last 3-5 years.

Artwork must be for sale.

SUBMISSIONS

All artists entering this event must submit 4 pieces of their artwork of which 3 pieces will be juried into the show.  Only 10 artists will be selected for this unique opportunity.          

Submission Guidelines:

  • If selected artist will be asked to submit an Artist Statement, Biography and required Gallery 500 documents, i.e., an inventory list and consignment agreement.

  • Submit high resolution jpeg images, 5mp in size max.  If your piece is framed, the gallery wants to see it in the submitted image, as selection will be based on the complete picture.

  • All artwork must be labeled on the back with the artist's name, title, size, medium and price.  All work must be for sale.

  • Tritychs and Diptychs are not eligible for this show.

SELECTION PROCESS:  Artwork will be judged on originality, creativity and overall artistic merit.  Please submit high quality images as your piece will be judged on the images you enter.

2D ARTWORK:  MAXIMUM SIZE  40” in any direction INCLUDING FRAME and must be able to be displayed on portable easels (no heavy pieces). Triptychs and Diptychs are not eligible in this show.

The use of A.I. (specifically only using Artificial Intelligence Text to Image) to create art that is not the original work of the artist is prohibited. Fine Art Photography should appear as such, photos excessively digitized to resemble a painting or drawing will not be allowed.

All entries must to the original design of the artist. Most of our host galleries will not allow any artwork not derived from the artist’s own works. Images created by text-to-image A.I. are not allowed in any competitions or displays.

3D artworks: MAXIMUM HEIGHT is 30” and must fit on a 15x15 pedestal.  No free-standing floor pieces or 3D wall pieces will be accepted for this call. Questions will be directed to the Chair of the exhibition.

Work must be securely constructed and be able to be moved by FLWAA and gallery staff. NO ADDITIONAL POEMS OR ARTWORK DESCRIPTIONS WILL BE INCLUDED FOR ENTRY TO HANG WITH INDIVIDUAL PIECES FOR THIS SHOW.

Canvas pieces must be dry and framed if not a 1.5” gallery wrap edge. Canvas edges must be painted if not framed.

Artwork must be ready to hang with D RINGS AND PICTURE HANGING WIRE on the back. No SCREWS, NAILS, SINGLE STRAND WIRE OR SAWTOOTH HANGER WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Artwork must comply with exhibition standards for this show and FLWAA’s 2024 exhibition guidelines. To view the 2024 standards please go to our website, www.FLWAA.com. Failure to comply with artwork standards may result in disqualification from the exhibit and/or awards.

INTAKE AND PICKUP:

Do not contact the gallery OR hotel directly with questions or arrange for early drop-off. All questions regarding drop off/pick up will be directed to the chair only.

ALL ACCEPTED ARTWORK WILL REMAIN IN THE EVENT UNTIL THE END OF THE EXHIBITION AND PICKED UP after 7pm. Additional arrangements for pickup may be available and should be arranged with the show chair.  All selected artists will be advised of specific details in their acceptance letters.

Work is to be delivered in compliance with intake time and date. Artists are responsible for arranging drop off/pick up of their pieces. ALL QUESTIONS SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO THE CHAIR! ART WILL NOT BE STORED AT THE GALLERY. Artwork not picked up at the end of the show without making prior arrangements with the chair, will forfeit entry into the next scheduled show.

RIGHTS AND LIABILITIES FLWAA often uses images of artwork for the purpose of promoting the organization and retains the right to do so. The Florida Women’s Arts Association and hosting gallery is not liable for loss, theft, or damage to artwork during exhibits. By entering this exhibition, you agree to its terms and conditions and will hold harmless FLWAA and the hosting gallery.
